Gluttony

If you like to eat, especially if you like to eat well and in large quantities, you will love Vienna. Not only are portions generously rich and large, but the city is also dotted with all-you-can-eat buffet-style eateries where you can celebrate the art of gluttony after purging your body in preparation for the big feast.

Der Wiener Deewan - Eat all you want, pay as much (or as little) as you like. Sounds like a dream, doesn't it? Some (gluttonous) dreams do come true - at least in Vienna - embodied by "Der Wiener Deewan", a no-frill resto reminiscent of a school cafeteria in Vienna's 9th district. Here tasty Pakistani food can be had six days a week.
All-you-can-eat buffet style choices include curry varieties, two of which are vegetarian, salad and dessert. Drinks are fixed priced, but still surprisingly low at 2-3€ per drink. The menu even boasts exotic choices, such as guanabana juice.
Despite the added dining space in the basement, it is best to avoid lunch hours when the place is buzzing with hungry students from the nearby university.
Liechtensteinstrasse 10 (U2 Schottentor), phone: 925 11 85.
